The ranking is by landscaping workflow, not by total feature count. QuoteIQ Beginner ranks first only for a measurement-led small team. Jobber Connect moves to first when the company already has reliable quantities and needs to manage recurring route work. QuoteIQ Elite becomes more plausible near ten users, but comparing its ten-user price with Jobber’s one-user price would be misleading.

QuoteIQ’s public pages require careful reading. Its pricing table puts MapMeasure Pro on Beginner and higher, and the MapMeasure page explicitly says Essentials does not include it. The same pricing page separately lists “Roof & Pitch Measurement” under AI features on every plan. That does not establish that Essentials can measure lawns inside the MapMeasure workspace. A landscaper buying for turf, beds, or perimeter measurements should use Beginner as the verified entry point and have the vendor demonstrate the exact feature before paying.
QuoteIQ’s annual prices are advertised as ten months of payment for twelve months of service. Jobber’s annual prices are prepaid for the full term and automatically renew unless set not to renew. Compare cash due at purchase as well as the monthly equivalent. The landscaping software cost calculator can add setup, usage, extra services, and measured labor value.
How do the aerial-measurement workflows differ?
What does QuoteIQ document?
MapMeasure Pro lives in QuoteIQ’s estimate builder. Its documentation says an address loads satellite imagery, after which the user can let the system trace a lawn, driveway, roof, or exterior, or draw the polygon manually. It returns area and perimeter in selectable units, permits edits to the polygon, and can save measurements to the customer profile.
That is the shorter documented path:
- open the customer’s estimate;
- load the property from its address;
- trace the lawn automatically or place the boundary manually;
- inspect and correct the polygon;
- apply pricing to the measurement; and
- send the estimate.
Do not treat the vendor’s speed or accuracy language as test evidence. Tree canopy, shadows, stale imagery, slopes, islands, inaccessible back yards, and mixed turf and bed areas can all change what the estimator needs to verify. The opened QuoteIQ pages do not publish a landscaping accuracy specification that can replace a field check.
What does Jobber document?
Jobber’s measurement guide describes two paths. The automatic path connects a separate Deep Lawn account. Measurements for lawns, buildings, driveways, and walkways then populate custom fields and appear on new quotes. The guide does not publish Deep Lawn’s subscription price, so enter the current written cost as a separate line in the comparison.
The manual path opens the property in Google Maps, switches to satellite view, draws the boundary with Google’s measurement tool, and copies the result into a Jobber property custom field. That can work for occasional measurement, but it introduces a manual handoff between the map, property record, and quote.
This difference is narrower than “one product can measure and the other cannot.” The defensible comparison is:
- QuoteIQ documents a built-in measurement-to-estimate workspace on Beginner and higher.
- Jobber documents an integrated external measurement service or a manual map-and-custom-field workflow.
- Neither source proves that the returned area matches the serviceable area on a specific property.
The National Association of Landscape Professionals distinguishes measurement and takeoff from estimating. A takeoff establishes quantities; the estimate still applies labor, material, equipment, and other costs. A square-foot total alone is not a profitable mowing, fertilization, mulch, or hardscape price.
Which product handles quote choices better?
QuoteIQ includes Standard, Quick, Options, and Package estimates across its plans. Options Estimates present several service tiers on one quote. Customers can choose a tier; e-signature approval starts on Beginner. For landscaping, that could put mowing-only, mowing-plus-bed-care, and a broader seasonal scope side by side without issuing three unrelated estimates.
Jobber’s basic quoting starts on Core. Grow is the relevant comparison when the quote must include optional line items, packages, line-item images, markups, and estimated margin. Markup and margin remain internal, while the client chooses optional services in client hub. Grow also adds job costing.
The products therefore invert the entry gates:
- QuoteIQ exposes tiered estimate formats cheaply but reserves job costing for Pro.
- Jobber reserves optional quote choices, markups, and job costing for Grow.
Do not score the prettier proposal. Build the same scope in both systems and check whether measured quantities, unit costs, production assumptions, client choices, approved totals, and the resulting job remain connected. A proposal can look complete while its labor calculation lives in an untracked spreadsheet.
Which product is better for recurring landscaping schedules?
Both vendors document recurring work. QuoteIQ says recurring jobs can auto-populate its calendar, with core scheduling available on every plan. Jobber’s recurring-job workflow supports repeating weekly, biweekly, monthly, and custom schedules, plus per-visit or fixed-price billing schedules.
Jobber publishes the more detailed operating rules in the pages checked. A recurring quote can become a job, visits can be assigned to team members, and a single visit can carry custom line items. The documentation also warns through its workflow design that a recurring job is more than a calendar copy: visit frequency and invoice frequency are configured separately.
Use a real service agreement in the trial:
- weekly mowing with a seasonal start and end;
- every-other-week service for part of the season;
- a monthly fixed invoice that covers several visits;
- a per-visit surcharge that applies once, not forever;
- one skipped holiday week; and
- one weather reschedule that must not create a duplicate invoice.
Pass only if the calendar count, visit count, invoice count, assignments, and approved scope still agree after each change.
How do QuoteIQ and Jobber route optimization compare?
Jobber publishes specific limits
Jobber’s current route optimizer is native on Connect, Grow, and Plus. It reorders anytime visits by driving distance, can optimize one team member, a group, or the whole team, and can process up to seven days. An admin must run it on Jobber.com; the optimized order then appears in the app.
Fixed-time visits are excluded. A dispatcher can hold the first and last visit in place, but using an office as an endpoint requires creating an anytime visit for that location. Those constraints matter to mowing crews that begin at a yard, return for equipment, or mix flexible maintenance with fixed client appointments.
QuoteIQ has a higher plan gate and fewer published constraints
QuoteIQ’s route page puts optimization on Elite and Max. It describes reordering a day’s scheduled jobs from a home base and says each employee can optimize assigned work on desktop or mobile. Its scheduling page also says the optimizer considers appointment times, duration, and current location.
The opened pages do not define a maximum stop count, multi-day horizon, capacity, equipment, service-area, crew-skill, break, or return-to-yard rule. That absence is not proof that the product fails those constraints. It means they need to be demonstrated with the company’s schedule before purchase.
One QuoteIQ page also claims Jobber requires a third-party route integration. That statement conflicts with Jobber’s current help documentation for its native Connect, Grow, and Plus optimizer. It should not be used in a buying decision.

How should a landscaping company test both products?
Run the following acceptance test in each trial. This article did not perform the test, and the worksheet should record observed results rather than vendor promises.
1. Establish field-checked reference properties
Choose three properties the company already understands:
- an open rectangular lawn;
- an irregular property with trees, beds, and excluded areas; and
- a multi-zone property with separate service prices.
Record the field-checked serviceable area, perimeter, date, method, and person responsible. Do not use parcel area as a substitute for maintained turf.
For every remote result, calculate:
area difference % = absolute(remote area - field area) ÷ field area × 100
Set the acceptable difference before seeing either product’s result. The threshold must reflect the company’s pricing risk; this article does not invent a universal tolerance.
2. Build one controlled estimate
Use the same price-book inputs in both products:
- measured quantity and unit;
- labor production rate;
- loaded labor cost;
- materials and application rate where relevant;
- equipment and disposal;
- overhead recovery; and
- target profit or selling-price rule.
Create base, enhanced, and seasonal options. Change one boundary and one unit cost, then confirm which draft totals update. Preserve the approved version so a later price-book change cannot silently rewrite the agreement.
3. Convert the approval into recurring work
Create the weekly, biweekly, and monthly cases above. Compare the approved line items with the job, visits, and invoice schedule. Give a crew member the minimum intended permission and confirm what that person can see and change.
4. Stress the route
Use the same day in both systems:
- six flexible mowing visits;
- one fixed-time estimate appointment;
- one crew that needs a particular trailer;
- different start and end locations;
- a midday equipment return; and
- one late weather cancellation.
Record which stops the optimizer changes, which it excludes, whether it warns about an impossible sequence, and whether the mobile order matches dispatch. Do not credit estimated savings. Compare actual route miles and paid time with the company’s normal planning method.
5. Test the exit path
Export customers, properties, measurements, estimates, approved documents, jobs, recurring rules, invoices, notes, and attachments where each system permits it. Open the files outside the product and check record counts, units, relationships, and media access. A generic “Export Data” checkmark does not prove that every operating record can be reconstructed.
What should the final decision be?
Choose QuoteIQ Beginner when one or two people frequently quote turf, driveways, beds, or perimeters from aerial imagery and the controlled field check shows that its editable measurement-to-estimate workflow is reliable. Move to Pro only when its automation or job-costing workflow passes a defined need; do not upgrade for a feature list alone.
Choose Jobber Connect when measurements already come from a trusted process and the business needs recurring scheduling, follow-ups, and documented anytime-visit routing for one to five users. Choose Grow when optional line items, markups, job costing, and custom automations justify the higher price. Whichever product wins, test the sequence and stop conditions with the landscaping estimate follow-up workflow before enabling unattended messages.
Choose QuoteIQ Elite only when its combined measurement, scheduling, dispatch, and route workflow beats the lower tiers or a Jobber-plus-measurement setup in the same trial.
